Functional fibrinogen assay: 

• Using a ReoPro®-modified TEG® sample, the software computes and displays an estimate of the sample's effective fibrinogen level, or the non-platelet component of clot strength.

Even when standard fibrinogen levels look normal, the TEG® functional fibrinogen assay can show decreased function, suggesting needed therapy.
