The test tells you that your patient has responded to antiplatelet therapy and is 50% inhibited.

But, how do you know whether that response is sufficient or excessive?

Is 50% inhibition too much? Too little?

Unless you know their maximum platelet function (reference point), you just don't know - because you don’t know their starting point.
